Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament Chair – Jeff Barnes of J&J Technical SolutionsThe Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament is an annual event known as the community’s most popular golf tournament, the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament offers not only a great time, but one of the greatest networking opportunities for businesses in the Sandy Area. Attended by the top business leaders in the area, this tournament is a great way to gain exposure for your business to an audience that really cares about the success of companies throughout the Sandy area. This tournament regularly attracts NFL and NBA stars as well as entertainment, media, political and other influential people. Each year the Chamber gives away tens of thousands of dollars in awards, prizes and gifts to participants. The Taste of Sandy Committee Chair – Cija Doyle of WalMartThe Taste of Sandy is an annual event held in the Sandy Area for Sandy Area restaurants and food vendors. Participation on this committee is a good fit for restaurants and businesses that require mass marketing to consumers. The Taste of Sandy is widely publicized and promoted through mass media. The Taste of Sandy typically draws a crowd of several hundred consumers on the day of the event. The website, www.TasteofSandy.com receives several thousand hits around the time of the event and therefore is a good marketing opportunity for committee members.

Government Affairs represents member interests in community affairs, legislation, and policy development which emanate from state and local government. Government Affairs also educates members about the legislative process by organizing a group of interested members to attend the Legislative Sessions at the capitol. |

Marketing Committee Chair – Jeff Barnes of J&J TechnicalThe Marketing Committee is comprised of men and women knowledgeable about the myriad of ways businesses can gain exposure in order to grow. This Committee designed the Sandy Chamber logo and develops publicity and marketing pieces for the Chamber utilizing a variety of venues as well as creates and implements programs that will effectively market Chamber member businesses. |

Sandy Area Chamber Foundation Chair – Steven Runolfson of LaCailleThe Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation was founded by successful business owners who are committed to giving back to the community and sharing their success with others. Although the Foundation is a separate legal entity from the Chamber, many of the Chamber Board of Directors and staff members actively participate in planning meetings and raise money for the Foundation. Funds raised by the Foundation are awarded to various individuals in need and charitable organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs. Each year Steven Runolfson of LaCaille, a Sandy Chamber Board member heads up the Foundations annual fund raiser held at LaCaille. This is a good committee to serve on if you have a strong desire to serve those in need right in your own community. This is also a great committee to be involved with if you like a good party (Steven really knows how to throw a party!)

| Economic Development/Retention Expansion The Economic Development Committee manages the local business geography. Participating members are well informed about businesses coming in, moving out, and expanding in Sandy. The committee develops relationships with business owners and works closely with Sandy City to retain businesses considering relocation. |

| Envision Sandy Have an idea that would improve Sandy City? Then Envision Sandy is the committee for you! This committee functions to generate ideas which will develop Sandy City and benefit local businesses and communities. These ideas are then presented to the City in an effort to make a difference. |

| I Shop Sandy The I Shop Sandy Committee strives to increase the revenue of local businesses primarily through targeting consumers. The scope of I Shop Sandy is not limited to retail, but includes all facets of business. The committee is currently developing an avant-garde program which will be a powerful marketing resource for businesses. |

| Communication Communications Committee functions in an advisory capacity to the Chamber. This committee improves how the Chamber reaches out and communicates information to our members via the website, commerce report, press releases, etc. Communications and Marketing work hand in hand. |

| Membership Development The diverse range of businesses which comprise the body of the Sandy Chamber is a significant advantage to our membership. The Membership Development Committee fosters relationships with businesses that would profit from a membership which in turn, increases your opportunities to make connections. | Business Education Business Education is partnership with higher education institutions. This group investigates and promotes opportunities for small business to be educated in what it takes to build a strong, productive business. Business Education can be used as a source of employment to help fill open positions in your business with interns or college graduates and also offers free advice for members regarding business finance plans |

| South Valley Tourism and Lodging The South Valley Tourism and Lodging Committee formulates innovative ways to increase the market for local tourist and lodging industries. The committee works closely with hotels, restaurants, ski resorts and entertainment venues to provide information about local attractions and events. By being a part of the South Valley Tourism and Lodging Committee, you’ll make connections with a wide variety of businesses. |

| Teacher Appreciation Committee The Teacher Appreciation Committee partners with the Canyons School District to honor outstanding teachers once a month. The committee also hosts a job shadowing event for high school students to work with different businesses during the morning and then listen to an inspirational speaker in the afternoon. This committee is a great way to impact the community through reaching out to students and teachers. |

| Technology Business is a fast paced market which is speeding up due to innovative technology. The Technology Committee works to place the Chamber and member businesses at the forefront of technology. This goal is accomplished through strategies which range from educating business owners to improving the Chamber’s service to members to supporting events such as the South Valley Business Expo. |
